Swing trade review & entry–exit context
The Trade Analyzer helps Indian swing traders put a completed or open trade in context — not to label it “good” or “bad,” but to compare your prices against the same NSE scanner research Swing Edge publishes daily. Think of it as a structured trade journal layer on top of pivot, relative strength, and risk stats.
What does the Trade Analyzer do?
Enter a symbol, your entry price, and optionally an exit. The tool loads the latest research snapshot and reports entry context (how your buy aligned with pivot zones, breakout score, composite RS, Stage 2 trend template, volume quality, and failure-risk flags) and, when an exit is given, exit context (P&L, MFE, MAE, peak capture, holding days, R-multiple vs modeled stop). All bullets are factual — no trade recommendations.
Entry context vs scanner criteria
Swing entries often cluster around a pivot or base breakout. The analyzer checks whether your entry sat near the modeled pivot, how the stock scored on our pre-breakout and breakout pillars, and whether trend stage and RS supported a swing setup on the snapshot date. This mirrors what you see on base-formation screener rows — useful for post-trade review and process improvement.
MFE, MAE & peak capture explained
MFE (maximum favorable excursion) is the best unrealized gain after your entry; MAE is the worst drawdown before exit. Peak capture measures how much of the post-entry high you kept at exit — a common swing-trading review metric. Together with R-multiple (gain or loss vs planned 1R risk), these stats describe execution quality without judging whether you should have traded the name.
Plan size before you analyze exits
Review works best when risk was defined upfront. Use our Position Sizing Calculator to set stop, risk %, and share count from scanner levels, then compare two names with Compare Stocks before committing capital. After the trade, return here with entry and exit prices for context.
Research & education only
Swing Edge does not provide investment advice. Scanner scores, modeled stops, and trade-analyzer output are algorithmic research for learning and journaling. Past snapshot context does not predict future prices. See our disclaimer and glossary for terminology used in the bullets.
